With Henri van Breda's trial underway, some residents of the De Zalze Estate are relieved that it has finally begun.

De Zalze residents are hoping that the unanswered questions they have carried for the past two years will finally be answered as the trial continues, and that they will be able to get some measure of closure.

Both legal teams – defence and prosecution – did an in loco inspection of the house on Tuesday. Eric Ntabazilila of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Western Cape told EWN that the visit to the site would provide a better understanding of the crime scene.

Henri is accused of murdering both his parents and brother at their home outside Stellenbosch in January 2015, as well as the attempted murder of his sister Marli and defeating the ends of justice. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
