Weston man out $2K in Craigslist boat scam

WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) — A Weston man has lost $2,000 after falling victim to a Craigslist scam.

According to the Everest Metro Police Department log, the victim reported purchasing $2,000 worth of Green Dot prepaid money cards in exchange for a boat. The incident occurred May 10.

The victim told police the boat was in Omaha, Nebraska. The card numbers were provided to the seller by phone.
