Norma Florentino pleaded guilty to 232 counts of fraud and two of money laundering in the Bellville Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Thursday.
According to reports, Florentino experienced serious financial trouble after her husband was unexpectedly retrenched. The family could not afford to pay their two daughters' student fees.
Florentino stole the large amount of money over a period of three years.
