The father threatened to kill the child if she told anyone about what he was doing, EWN reports. The girl's grandmother reported the man to the police after the young girl told her about the crime.
"The father was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Umlazi Regional Court. The sentencing came after we celebrated National Child Protection Week. We encourage our community to protect and defend our children," police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala said.
