IFP fuming after 14-year-old girl is forced the marry

The girl was saved by South African Police, but the incident does bring back into the spotlight the abuse of culture to commit crime. Deputy Spokesperson for the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Joshua Mazibuko was infuriated by the news.
In a statement released by the party on Wednesday, Mazibuko said the girl’s parents and family were directly responsible for the abuse. He said that was ultimately where the problem usually started – with family.
“The IFP is deeply disturbed that some people hide behind culture in order to commit pure crime,” said Mazibuko on Wednesday.
“Kidnapping or forcing a 14-year-old child to become a woman cannot be part of African culture. The IFP applauds police and all involved for successfully rescuing the girl,” added the IFP spokesperson.
