Racism is a real issue in South Africa and something many black people still experience in their daily lives.

Sechaba’s scene shows two white males attacking him verbally and physically, during the attacks words such as baboon are used and commentary that would make any black person rage with anger.

The scene reflects stories that we have heard of in the media or in conversation with people, who have been in similar situations. But it’s not something we normally see on our screens – murder, crime yes but not racism.

Television is a great method to use to get people thinking about topics that are considered taboo but for a change, it was good seeing people talking about the issue via social media.

Viewers were left feeling different emotions – some were angered by the scene, while others felt empathy for Sechaba.

U gotta give it to #isidingo for their brave & real story lines regarding on how they tackle racism. We all can relate white black kuyafana

I applaude #Isidingo for addressing the issue of #racism in South Africa. Can’t wait to see what people think/have to say about that scene.
