The case of the murder of Karabo Mokoena has been postponed while court awaits the forensic lab results determining whether she was dead or alive when the murder accused set her alight.
Sandile Mantsoe appeared in Johannesburg Magistrate's court on Friday.
The State argued that they are waiting on the forensic results from the crime scene so that the investigation would be concluded.
There are two crime scenes – Sandile's apartment where he claims he found Karabo Mokoena dead as a result of suicide and the veld in Lyndhurst where he admitted to burning her using swimming pool acid and petroleum and a tyre.
Magistrate Piet du Plessis threatened that he would throw the case out if there was any delay in obtaining the forensic report. He argued that the case has been delayed for over two months.
"You must go now and say you've got a month to expedite. Don't wait until the 28th of August to go ask," he said.
The case has been postponed to August 30.
