Over the last few years a number of high-profile brands have seen their customers’ data compromised – as the result of a deliberate hack or because of inadequate security procedures.
The latest brand to suffer is Wonga. Earlier this month the payday loan provider suffered a data breach and warned that up to a quarter of a million customers may have been affected by it.
But how has the data breach affected Wonga’s public perception? Its buzz score (whether someone has heard something positive or negative about the brand) was already in negative territory before news of the leak came out, although it had been improving in recent times.
