Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee said that Carrim’s family became worried when he never returned home from work on Thursday evening.
The father of five’s spectacles were found in Radiokop, and the discovery of his torched car near the R511 on Friday raises more questions about his whereabouts.
“The motive is still unclear,” Abramjee said. “But clearly it wasn’t hijacking, otherwise they would have just taken the vehicle.”
