Abramjee questions Twitter ban

Social cohesion advocate and anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee has allegedly been blocked on Twitter by the South African Police Service.
Abramjee has labelled the ban “childish and immature” – and insisted Police Minister Fikile Mbalula urgently look into the reported sanction.
“I suspect I was blocked because I tweet incidents of crime constantly and hold police to account,” said Abramjee.
“If anything, the decision to block me will make me even more determined to continue exposing crime, corruption and police inefficiency.”
Earlier this year, Abramjee laid criminal charges against a man for inciting violence and hatred on social media.
“I can confirm that I opened criminal charges at the Brooklyn Police Station in Pretoria. I’ve received a case number and I hope the police will get to the bottom of this case,” he said in March.
“He might be having a fake name or it might be his real name but we cannot sit back and allow this hatred and this incitement to violence to continue.”
