Augusta University officials have completed an investigation into a breach of email accounts in September.
According to a news release, a phishing attack on faculty email accounts at Augusta University and AU Medical Center potentially compromised the data of less than 1 percent of patients.
Phishing is the practice of sending out fraudulent emails purporting to be from reputable sources in hopes of tricking recipients into revealing passwords or other personal information.
