KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed on Wednesday that Alexandra Road police station's Constable Nobukhosi Msimanga and her husband, Thabo Msimanga were gunned down by unknown gunmen.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker said that the couple's bodies were found by their daughter who heard the gunshots and went outside to investigate.
Naicker said that police are currently investigating the two murders.
KwaZulu-Natal acting provincial commissioner Major General Bheki Langa, said, "I express my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the member and her husband, who were the victims of this horrendous crime."
