The South African Police in Hennenman are offering a R25 000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of a 20-year-old woman at Phomolong in the Free State earlier this month.
Refilwe Rampai was found dead, by her mother, on the floor of her bedroom on April 4. The discovery was made after Rampai had mysteriously disappeared for a day. There are still no answers on how and why she disappeared and no clarity on why she was killed.
“She was last seen after church by fellow church goers without any complaints or anything suspicious,” said police spokesperson Capt Malebo Khosana.
Rampai’s mother only made the discovery because her daughter had not been answering her phone, at which point she decided to check in on her.
“She decided to come to Phomolong when her daughter was not answering the cell phone. She made a gruesome discovery that she was stabbed with a sharp object on the stomach and her intestines were hanging out as a result of the brutal attack.
“A murder docket was opened for investigation. The investigation assigned to Constable Tefo Tshabalala of Hennenman Detective Unit who investigated this case up to so far with no success,” added Khosana.
“Therefore SAPS is offering a reward of up to R25 000 for information that can lead to the arrest and successful conviction of the accused in this crime.”
